Joe remembered visiting a Web site in the past, and now he wanted to return to it. Since he had typed the address once, he could visit the site again by using his voice.

He started by saying, "Enter Address." A green box opened. It contained the letters of the military alphabet and characters that are common to Web addresses.

Because he wanted to visit www.yahoo.com, he said, "Yankee" for the letter Y. When Conversa Web heard "Yankee," it opened a list of Web sites that start with the letter Y.

Joe saw that www.yahoo.com was second on the list. So he said, "number 2" to go to the page. Now Joe knew how to use his voice to visit any site on the Internet. He danced around his cubicle as his jealous coworkers watched, their hands sore from clicking.
